The Importance of Routine Dental Care

Each patient that we see in our office has different needs and requires different levels of care. For many of our patients, we recommend that they visit every six months; however, there are some patients who need to see us more frequently than that. For example, patients with gum disease will be recommended to come in more often than every six months. We also require patients who are undergoing treatment with clear aligners to follow a certain schedule for appointments.

It is important to remember that every patient should be visiting our office for routine hygiene examinations as recommended by our team. Even if you have excellent oral health, are diligent about following an oral hygiene routine, and have not had any previous issues, regular appointments are just as necessary. During a routine appointment, we look for any areas in your mouth that currently pose a problem or have the potential to become one in the future. We are able to compare X-rays and digital images to observe any changes in your mouth from visit to visit. The longer you delay visiting us, the greater the chance you will experience a dental emergency.
