No matter how well you are feeling after treatment, it is extremely important to continue to follow our instructions. Failure to follow our recommendations can lead to complications such as damage to your mouth, severe discomfort, the failure of a successful treatment, and even the need for additional treatments. Do Not Eat or Drink Too Soon

One of our most common instructions is to avoid eating and drinking for a period of time following a treatment or cleaning. This is extremely important to follow, especially if you received a numbing agent. Eating or drinking while numb can be extremely dangerous because it is very easy to damage your mouth. When you cannot feel what you are chewing, it is very common to bite the inside of your cheek, your tongue, and even your lips.
