At Parkside Dental Care, we want to help you get the smile of your dreams. We offer a number of cosmetic dentistry options that can improve the aesthetic appearance as well as the function of your teeth and smile. We have a number of patients who are concerned with the appearance of their front teeth. Issues such as chips, cracks, severe staining, the appearance of being worn, gaps between teeth, and teeth that are not shaped properly can leave patients feeling self-conscious and unwilling to smile or show their teeth. Luckily, we offer two wonderful treatments that can help improve these imperfections — dental veneers and dental bonding.
Dental Veneers
This treatment is used on the front, visible teeth and can change the entire appearance of the teeth. A wafer-thin shell is permanently placed over the tooth, hiding any imperfections. This treatment is completed in multiple office visits and can be used on one tooth or multiple teeth. It is beneficial even in extreme cases.
Dental Bonding
This treatment is a conservative and effective way to improve imperfections in the teeth such as discoloration, chipped or cracked teeth. The process is completed in one office visit and uses tooth-colored resin that is applied directly to the tooth, masking any imperfections. The resin is shaped and molded over the tooth, hardened and finally polished to provide a beautiful restoration.
While both options can greatly improve the appearance of your smile, your choice will depend on your ultimate goal. Dental veneers are a long-lasting option and beneficial when the entire tooth is damaged; however, the process takes longer than one office visit to complete. Dental bonding is more cost effective and is beneficial when treating a minor area, but the treatment is not as durable and long lasting as veneers. Our team can help you decide on a treatment that will be most suitable for your needs and budget.
Choosing either option will give you beautiful results that will blend in with your natural teeth. If you are interested in learning more about dental bonding and veneers, please contact our office located in Montgomery, AL.
